Scholarships and Fellowships
The Daniel C. Brouwer Mentoring Scholarship is awarded to a graduate student whose work reflects a commitment to engaged and exceptional mentoring demonstrated by Professor Brouwer. Professor Brouwer served as faculty in the Hugh Downs School for 21 years and worked with more than 60 graduate students on their dissertations and theses.
The Christine M. Muldoon Communications Scholarship Endowment is awarded to outstanding first-year doctoral students in the HDSHC who will make important contributions to the communication discipline.
The Jeanne Lind Herberger Fellowship in Communication Endowment was established to support outstanding graduate students who will make important contributions to the communication discipline and their communities.
The recipient of the Dessie E. Larsen Graduate Fellowship in Performance Studies is selected by faculty who teach and advise students in the area of Performance Studies, whose practitioners create and/or analyze communicative relations between performers, audiences, and cultural and/or aesthetic texts.
This scholarship provides support to international students pursuing graduate studies in intercultural communication at the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication. Judith N. Martin dedicated her career to teaching, research, and training in the field of intercultural communication.
