The Hugh Downs School of Human Communication offers one-on-one tutoring, group tutoring, and academic coaching for COM classes. 

The tutoring office is located in Stauffer Hall, A Wing, Room 335D.

George Bryant is available to assist you in our core courses: COM 308, COM 407, and COM 408. We offer assistance with topic selection for speeches or papers; reviewing assignments; formal outlining; APA style issues; writing a literature review as well as helping you understand theories and methodologies.

Darien Keane


Darien Keane offers support for Com100, Com 207, and Com 225.  She can help you with coding sheets, test-taking strategies and note-taking, topic selection, research, and outlining.  She can also help you manage your anxiety before your presentations. 

If you would like to practice your presentations you are welcome to do so with Darien. 

Her office is Stauffer A209 and she has tutoring hours Mondays from 1:00-2:00 pm,  Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm,  and virtual hours through Zoom, Skype or Google Hangouts Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00-6:00 pm.
