Undergraduate Research Apprenticeship

Get involved in communication research

Not only is it essential to your education — especially if you aspire to attend graduate school — but it's fun! By working with mentors who are experts in their fields, you'll establish relationships and professional connections that may last a lifetime.

The Hugh Downs School of Human Communication undergraduate student research experience places both in-person and online undergraduate students into research assistant opportunities working with individual faculty members on their research projects.

Students will enroll in COM 404: Research Apprenticeship and earn 3 credits. It is available during the Fall and Spring Semesters.

This course explores the methods and practices of communication research. Students will work with a faculty member on research-oriented tasks over the semester.

Students in this class will obtain experience in the new data-driven landscape by collecting and analyzing data, and learning how to present the findings.

* As with any course at ASU that earns credit, regular tuition charges apply.
