The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Scholarships
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences offers a wide range of scholarships and awards to support our students. These may be based on merit, financial need, or specific academic achievements.

National Scholarships
The Lorraine W. Frank Office of National Scholarship Advisement, administered by Barrett, The Honors College, helps students apply for prestigious national and international awards such as the Rhodes, Fulbright, and Marshall scholarships.
This resource is available to all ASU students—not just those enrolled in Barrett—and provides guidance throughout the competitive scholarship application process.
Hugh Downs School Scholarships
Eligibility Requirements
- Female undergraduate pursuing a career or studies in public relations
- Must be a full-time resident of Arizona
- Must demonstrate financial need as defined by ASU Financial Aid and Scholarship Services
- Must be a full-time student in the Hugh Downs School for the duration of the award
- If no eligible female student is identified, the scholarship may be awarded to a male or female student from Arizona pursuing public relations

- Minimum 3.0 cumulative ASU GPA
- Preference for juniors and seniors
- Must be a full-time student in the Hugh Downs School for the duration of the award
Award split between semesters
Eligibility Requirements
- Minimum 3.5 cumulative ASU GPA
- Junior or senior status during the award period
- Must be a full-time student for the duration of the award with an emphasis on interpersonal or intercultural communication

- Minimum 3.0 cumulative ASU GPA
- Preference given to juniors and seniors; however, outstanding freshmen and sophomores may be considered
- Must be a full-time student in the Hugh Downs School for the duration of the award

- Preference given to students demonstrating special needs such as a physical disability, returning to school after a significant absence, a renewed commitment to education, or other circumstances at the discretion of the selection committee

- Minimum 3.0 cumulative ASU GPA
- Full-time or part-time student pursuing any major or minor, enrolled in performance studies classes in the Hugh Downs School, and demonstrating significant contributions to performance through creative activity, scholarship, and/or community service
Hugh Downs School Awards and Recognition Ceremony

Our Spring 2025 Awards and Recognition Ceremony was held on April 12 at the historic Carson Ballroom inside Old Main on ASU’s Tempe campus.
